Rear of Elkanah Deane House (reconstructed 1938) @ Colonial Williamsburg - Williamsburg, VA, USA
The Elkanah Deane House at the corner of the Palace Green and Prince George Street is steps away from the Governor's House. The home's namesake, Deane, was a coachmaker who immigrated to Williamsburg from Ireland during the 18th century. Deane purchased the home in 1772, but it had disappeared by the 19th century. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation restored the house in the 1930s and decorated it with the residents' furniture.
