Old Corn Mill on the River Wear - Durham, England, UK
There has been a mill on this site since medieval times. It began life as a fulling mill, but by 1462 it was grinding corn and had two water wheels. After the great flood of 1771, the mill was rebuilt.
By the middle of the 19th century, the building ceased being a mill. Instead, various occupants lived there, including a mason, riverbanks constables, a plumber, and a water bailiff.
